Paper Stacking

Uncategorized
The first stacked sculpture is a representation of a pepper. I used paper and wood clue, and a sander to shape the form.

For the second stacked sculpture, I found inspiration in the artwork of Georgia O’Keefe as well as venus fly traps. I combined the two to create the pieces below. I used ink, paper and glue.

Momento

Uncategorized
I used plastic beads and broken glass to create this momento. The beads were placed into the metal lid of a mason jar and then melted in the oven at 350 degrees. A Stella Artois bottle was broken and placed in the center of the circular form.
My moment is a representation of a particular experience I had in college. I opened my eyes to a light shining through an orange and purple tapestry. The circular form is representative of my optical perspective. The transparency is meant to represent the ambiance created by the light passing through the tapestry. The piece of glass in the middle was put in place to represent the sharp headache that I felt, undoubtedly, from the Stella the night before

A Few of My Favorite Things

Uncategorized
a. East of Eden by John Steinbeck
The book I read for my Junior Paper in high school. The letter from John to Pat is my favorite part.
b. Whales
Before I die, I want to pet a killer whale. Preferably one that isn’t in captivity.
c. 80’s Music
I blame my parents for this one.
d. Shakira
I performed a gymnastics routine to “Whenever, Wherever” in my elementary school talent show. The embarrassment faded. My love for Shakira didn’t.
e. Linus
My dog, who has three and a half legs. She’s the most beautiful and incredible creature that I have ever been able to call mine. On special occasions, I coordinate her bandana with my outfit.
f. Halloween Costumes
I just really like making costumes.
g. Rollerskating
One time, I bought a pair of skates at Goodwill for $8. Two years and countless road-rashes later, I’m still as awful as I was when I started.
